To hunt or not to hunt in GRAVEYARDS...

As there are many opinions in every subject imaginable...whether ghosts haunt their own graves or not is just another one of those debates.

Theory One: Why stick around?

Many people think graveyards are NOT haunted. Why would a spirit stick around it's dead body when it could be haunting it's home? Family? Place of death? If I was to die but my spirit hung around...why would I stick around my grave?

Theory Two: The wondering spirit.

Another opinion goes with the wondering spirit. Just like a living person can travel from one place to another, couldn't a persons spirit? Or maybe the spirit can be in two places at once? Maybe the graveyard is somewhat of a new "home". With many other wondering spirits...all being able to connect...sine they are in fact all dead. Maybe it is comforting to have a "hang out" area...wondering their grave sites. But in times of loneliness, or maybe they feel the pull of a loved ones thoughts, they can travel to that spot. Home, place of death...etc. Maybe spirits even travel beyond their normal loved places. Maybe they see someone walk thru their graveyard and they decide to follow them around for a bit? Curious...?

Theory Three: The trapped spirit.

Other believe a spirit is trapped where it dies. Or possibly in a very loved place, like their home. It is a common belief for people to think that one a spirit dies in a place, there is some sort of force keeping them there to haunt it. A prison of sorts...never able to leave. This may be the reason why there are so many "haunted locations". Or maybe the spirit doesn't leave the body till it is buried? And this is why graveyards are so haunted. The spirit has no where to go other then the wondering of their own grave?

Now what if:
As a living person can wonder, so can its spirit. Traveling through our homes, the streets, around us daily...yet not seen. This wondering may be a way for them to try and get attention, or maybe they don't know they are dead? If I was a wondering spirit I would definitely wonder around looking for attention...can you imagine living in darkness for countless years alone? I cant.
What if this world we live in today is just a shadow of the full dimension that goes on around us?
And what if a soul DOES wonder around it's own grave...maybe that is because they are looking to "Rest In Peace"? And hunting on their graves only disturbs them?

Well...it is all speculation...we may never know all the answers.

I know from experience, I have had a few visitors...they come and go, some follow from haunted locations, others are completely random...if they can travel the world now just like they could before...why would they go back to their graves?

Astral Projection

Astral projection (or astral travel) is an esoteric interpretation of any form of out-of-body experience (OOBE) that assumes the existence of an "astral body" separate from the physical body and capable of travelling outside it. Astral projection or travel denotes the astral body leaving the physical body to travel in the astral plane.

The idea of astral travel is rooted in common worldwide religious accounts of the afterlife in which the consciousness' or soul's journey or "ascent" is described in such terms as "an...out-of body experience, wherein the spiritual traveller leaves the physical body and travels in his/her subtle body (or dreambody or astral body) into ‘higher’ realms." It is therefore associated with near death experiences and is also frequently reported as spontaneously experienced in association with sleep and dreams, illness, surgical operations, drug experiences, sleep paralysis and forms of meditation.

It is also sometimes cultivated for its own sake or may be believed to be a faculty derived from or necessary to some forms of spiritual practice. It may involve "travel to higher realms" called astral planes but is commonly used of any sensation of being "out of the body" in the everyday world, even seeing ones body from outside or above. It may be reported in the form of an apparitional experience, a supposed encounter with a doppelganger, some living person also seen somewhere else at the same time.

The belief that one has had an out-of-body experience is common: hundreds of personal accounts were published in a number of books through the 1960s and 70s and surveys have reported percentages ranging from 8% to as many as 50% (in certain groups) of respondents who state they have had such an experience. The subjective nature of the experience permits explanations that do not rely on the existence of an "astral" body and plane. There is little beyond anecdotal evidence to support the idea that people can actually "leave the body".

For example...A mother has a strong sense of a connection with a child and visa versa. If a child were to get into trouble, he/she could unconsciously let his/her spirit leave the body and appear to the mother, who would in that instant know something was wrong. This has been recorded as a common occurrence.

Another common experience is seeing a spirit before death. A dying loved one coming to see you one last time...kind of as a way to say good bye, or it is time...
Ever see a "ghost" of a loved one dying, only to rush to the hospital and have them still be alive?

Vampires

Evidence supporting the existence of vampires has always existed in our society, since the spawning of these creatures. They have simply been well-hidden from the public as have many things… (aliens/UFOs and werewolves)

One obvious piece of evidence would be the fact that there are descriptions of vampires from an array of existing and pre-existing cultures across the world. Drawings and written descriptions of human-like creatures that would draw blood from their victims, with uncanny strength, speed, elongated fangs, varying skin pigmentation, aversion to sunlight and allergic to garlic. The underlying, rudimentary characteristics as described above all correlate and remain consistent amongst different cultures. There are descriptions of vampires extending across the globe from places such as Africa to India to China.

The existence of vampires in an array of cultures is an obvious indication that there is something similar if not identical to the creatures described in our world.

Time Slips and Warps

What is a Time Slip? A time slip is an alleged paranormal phenomenon in which a person, or group of people, travel through time through supernatural (rather than technological) means. As with all paranormal phenomena, the objective reality of such experiences is disputed.

A widely-publicized case from October 1979, described in the ITV television series Strange But True?, concerned the Simpsons and the Gisbys, two English married couples driving through France en route to a holiday in Spain. They claimed to have stayed overnight at a curiously old-fashioned hotel and decided to break their return journey at the same hotel but were unable to find it. Photographs taken during their stay, which were in the middle of a roll of film, were missing, even from the negative strips, when the pictures were developed.

In the 1980's Rick Stratton, a television crew technician in his twenties, and a friend rented a cottage deep in the New England countryside. The secluded house was built by Moravian settlers in the 1800's. He enjoyed living there for several weeks and experienced nothing out of the usual. One night he walked into the kitchen to get a drink. When stepped into the doorway, he was immediately shocked. The kitchen had completely changed. The entire room appeared "old fashioned". But the strangest of all, a man sat at the table eating and a woman stood over the sink. They were both dressed in antiqued garb. The old man and woman looked at Rick and their eyes popped open like they had seen a ghost. Rick stared at them for several seconds, each person speachless. Then, they vanished and the kitchen was back to normal.

3am...

So I was fast alseep...in a deep sleep since I have been sick with a cold, and out of nowhere, woke up around 3am. The lights were off in my room....which is rare because my son will sometimes get up at night, so I usually leave something on, and I look to the bottom corner of my bed and there is standing a boy. Kind of tall...maybe 12 years old. He is watching me, i watch him back...trying to make sure I'm still not sleeping and then after several long seconds he slowly fades away...

I was not scared at all by this ghost that was just in my room, staring at me at the end of my bed...tho just thinking the thought right now gives me goose bumps. lol
I'm hoping he was just checking me out and will be coming back soon...I'm sure he has something he wants to tell me...I'll keep you all posted on what happens!

Just strange...

So it's a Tuesday night, my kids are with their dad and I decide to get in a jog. I'm near the end of my run and out of breath so I am just walking now, it's fairly dark and all of a sudden I feel huge claws digging into the back of my head, Startled, I scream and turn around there there is nothing there, my hair is all messed up so I take it down and then notice a huge owl sitting on the telephone wire...I'm looking at it and it is staring back at me...I start walking backwards, still watching it...watching me and it dives at me again. I now turn and start walking faster, again it perches on the wire and is watching me and for a thrid time dives at me...at this point I run home...with a serious headache...
that had to have been the strangest thing that has happened to me....

Personal experience

I just had the craziest thing happen to me...a first for me for sure!

I felt like I needed to lay down, so I did.
I wasnt even really tired, just bored and had nothing else to do.
I closed my eyes and saw a white figure...I tried to open my eyes back up and they would NOT open...i was trying SO hard, I got them open a bit and they were forced shut again...then all of a sudden I was at Emily's bridge. I could feel the cool air and an energy in the bridge. I was on one side of it and started running thru it to the other side, the energy inside was INTENSE and all of a sudden I felt like I had been possesd. I was wondering if it was a dream so I grabbed onto the bridge and I could feel all the cracks and everything in the wood...it was like I was really there. the feeling inside me was so intense so I sat down on the corner of the bridge. A man came up to me to see if I was ok, but I was so overwhelemed I coudnt talk and I just stared at him...he left and came back and when he came back there was a black figure behind him, he could feel it so he turned around but when he did it was gone...
I was trying to wake up, so I did. I had my hands over my chest and was holding each hand, I let go to wipe hair out of my face, but my hand was still holding a hand. I took my loose hand and grabbed the other hand to pry it away from my other hand...then I woke up AGAIN and I could STILL feel the hand in my hands...and it slowly faded away...
it was the craziest more realistic thing that has EVER happened to me... I cant even begin to tell you how real it was...I would swear I was really in that bridge, I could feel the wood under me, i touched it and felt it perfectly, I could feel the energy inside the bridge and then inside me and I felt the hands while I was even awake....not only that but I had SPLINTERS in my hands....it was crazy!!!

Old Victorian House night 2

So from the intense first night we had at the old victorian, my photographer, Dawn and I decided to make a second trip. we arrived around 10pm and began to take out the equipment and such, expecting things to start right off....nothing. We walked around the house, it was very quiet, the energy wasnt anywhere near as strong as it was the first night. While we were downstairs, we did hear some footsteps upstairs, so we went up there...Nothing happened while we were upstairs so we made out way back downstairs, we decided to sit on the floor and do a EVP session. During this session we once again heard the girl in the kitchen area, the same place we heard her last time. We heard more footsteps upstairs and at one point in the night we heard something being dragged across the floor. This was going on while we were asking the little boy, the same one we talked to the first night (he did make the EMF go off once) if he was around.

A little dissapointed in the night we went home. but we did catch some EVP's. listen to them here.

Old Victorian House, VT

Well this night was by far amazing!!!
It wasn't 5 minutes when we walked inside and took out the EMF sensor (which was tested before) when it started going off like crazy...not just a little bit, but was spiking as much as was possible...(see picture)
We took out the audio recorder right away (click here for EVP's) and began asking questions. Maybe 8 minutes in, we all turned around to the sound of a little girl laughing, unfortunately this full laugh was not caught on the audio. I was asking questions and with each question the EMF sensor would go crazy or do nothing at all...like it was answering my questions. We found out the spirit we were communicating with was a child, about 10 years old. It would not answer my question of which gender it was. I asked it to play a game with me as I set my flashlight on the floor and asked it to move it or turn it on...nothing happened. I also asked it to bang on the wall...Even tho while we were there we didnt hear the banging at this time, 3 knocks did come up on the audio recorder. Several EVP's were caught on the audio as well...17 of them...including, after my question "Are you still here with us" it answers "right here". After asking it to knock over the flash light, it answers "help me". Many others were caught but I have not been able to tell what they are saying yet...


At one point we heard (and caught on audio) footsteps upstairs, so we went up...the first time up there nothing happened, so we made our way back down stairs to the child who was communicating with us so well.
Again, more questions asked, and each one answered...at one point early in the night, both my mom and Shannon saw a figure outside carrying a light...we all bolted thinking it was the cops...when we got outside there was no one there.
After asking the child a few more questions and it seemed as tho it was getting quiet now, i heard female voices upstairs, so we ventured up there again. One room drew me in so we took the audio recorder and the EMF sensor in, nothing for the first minute or so. I began to say "it's ok, we're not here to hurt you" at this time the EMF sensor started to spike. It answered a few questions for us determining it was an older male who had no family or friends there with him. I asked him to bang 3 times on the wall for me so we knew for sure he was there...I banged 3 times....then he did (this was caught on audio as well). There was one EVP we caught in the room that I am trying desperatly to figure out...the only thing I can hear from it tho is "Kill them" (I will have all these EVP's online for you soon).
Even tho the activity was strong, we were getting tons off of the EMF sensor and many EVP's on the audio...it seemd to start repeating itself...nothing new was happening so we began to pack up..as we were leaving Shannon decided to ask one more question to the child...no answer...he asked again....no answer...he asked if it was still with us...no answer. We decided maybe it didnt like Shannon so he game me the EMF sensor and I asked if it was still there...an immediate spike! I asked the question and it instantly responded.

This was definitely a hot spot and I will be going back at my next chance!

TONIGHT - Highgate Manor used to be a Doctors home that did experiments on children...killing them all (who are now buried across the street) also it is built on top of the railroad tunnel where slaves starved to death waiting to get into Canada.

August - Back Inn Time (inn). "There is Lora, the wife of Sidney Weaver, a past owner of the home. Lora died at the young age of 30, however her spirit lived on at Back Inn Time. Request Lora's Room for a chance to encounter Lora. Another ghost spotted is that of a man. He has been seen in the downstairs parlor. Many of our guests have reported seeing our resident ghosts while staying with us. If you are lucky you may also have a spirited encounter. "

September - Back to Emily's bridge

Emily's Bridge in Stowe Vermont

There is a bridge in VT where 150 years ago a women hung herself when her lover never showed up for their elope. It has been heavily haunted ever since.

When we got there is wasn’t quite midnight yet, so we did some waiting around for a bit, while we did this another group of people showed up to see Emily, so we hung out with them as well. I could already feel the presence of Emily and before long the whole group was audibly hearing her crying, we heard this several times. We were a small group, 8 people, and we were all together, this crying was non of us…and the bridge is kind of in the middle of nowhere, there were no other people around. We also heard her walking up and down the bridge, I was able to see her the whole night, she watched us and occasionally became angry with us, we saw orbs with our visible eyes and also had many orbs show up in pictures, there is one picture with a light movement and one with mist and the best of all one picture with what seems to be a body hanging from the bridge. It was a long night, we were there from 10:30pm to 3:ooam. When we left we stopped the van inside the bridge, I could see Emily put her hands on the window and peer in to see us (of course I was screaming…lol) and the car behind us hurried thru, not stopping. we all decided to stop at the nearest gas station and get out to see the cars. On our van, there were 2 distinct hand prints (where I saw her looking in) and the other car had a large scratch on the side of it.

Oujia Board Night 1

Ok...so believe it or not...with all these ghostly encounters i had never used a Ouija board before...until about a month ago. The night started out with 4 friends (including myself), several small candles lit and the board in the middle of the bed. For about 20 minutes nothing happened. I continued to take pictures thru-out the whole night...during this beginning time, nothing showed up in these pictures...

Several minutes into the night the pointer on the board started to move...as soon as this started happening MANY orbs started showing up in the pictures...There was this one very bright one that was right outside the bedroom door where we were playing, I have zoomed in on it to show you it is not a dust orb (like most orbs in photos). The creepy thing is when I moved into my new apartment I could sense a women's ghost...well I proceeded to tell my friends about this forever resident who haunted my apartment...a young women in her 20's, not happy at all, committed suicide. Well when the board started to move, we asked if it was male of female...it said female.

Randomly throughout the days i would smell an over powering smell of smoke…or something burning…just recently I was seeing the woman again and felt like I knew how she died…electrocuting herself in the bathtub.I have seen 2 bright lights in my room hovering in the corner for a minute then quickly moving and disappearing.

Ghost Stories

When I was 4 we moved into this house…about a year later (from what I can remember….I was only 5) I started noticing things like my dolls being moved in the morning, or the feeling like someone was there. A few years later the feelings got stronger and i was starting to be able to sense what was in my room. I was noticing imprints on my bed like someone was sitting next to me. Soon I was able to “see” very clearly exactly what this was. A little boy about 8 years old with dark brown curly hair and big brown eyes haunted my room. I was scared at first, not sure what to do, is I tried to become “friends” with him…I had to remind him to not stand at the end of my bed and stare at me because it scared me…so instead he would sit on the side of my bed…all night long…He was a curious and mischievous boy who never did any harm…just wanted to play, except one night he scratched me…bad enough it left a scar…so I will never forget…This was just the beginning…along with seeing this boy and other ghosts with my “inner eye” There was one man in my room i saw with my visible eye…he reached into my doorway and turned off my light (I slept with my light on).

A little about myself...

My name is Sarah. I am 24. Since I was little I have been able to see ghosts with both my physical eye and "inner" eye. I can sense when a spirit is in the room...so strongly that I can tell what it is wearing, color of hair, facial expressions and movements. I have had many many encounters over the years...along with seeing ghosts I also developed a strong esp (which once I married a pastors son...was gone...but is now slowly coming back, 4 years later). I could tell when the phone was going to ring and who it was for before it even rang. I could read minds (to a point) if someone was to sit down with me and concentrate on a number, letter, color, name or object...write it on a piece of paper or whisper to a friend and I could tell them what it was. I knew in school when the teacher was going to call on me, or when someone was going to come up and talk to me...

There is a limit (so far) to my encounters...I can read facial expressions, and see the figures...but I have not yet been able to hear anything...other then screams from the spirits.
